General Guidelines:

Use common sense when using NutraBoost, remember, it's more like a food, not a medicine! While we provide guidelines on serving amounts as required by the FDA/USDA, don’t get caught up in the precise amount to take and when. Adjust the quantity of NutraBoost added according to your taste and needs. The most important thing is to take NutraBoost routinely to start getting the benefit. If, after trying, you think 2 scoops is too much to take at one time… take less... but take it !  If you think 1 scoop in 10 oz of your favorite beverage is not enough... use more. Take it in increments of 1/2 a scoop if that works for you. If you decide to use less at one time, try to compensate by using it more frequently throughout the day. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

How should I start using NB ?

Start using NB at 1 scoop per meal, 2 - 3 times per day.  This is especially important if your body is not accustomed to a high fiber diet. Over the course of approximately 2 to 3 weeks gradually work up to the recommended serving amount of 2 scoops or more per day according to your needs. 

How does hot or cold impact the mixing ?                                                                    In very cold beverages NB will dissolve much slower, so you will need to be more aggressive with stirring. Conversely, in warm to hot temperature liquids it will mix easily. If you store NB in the refrigerator it will also dissolve more slowly.                                           

Is there a maximum # of servings to be taken in one day ?  

Yes, we do not recommend consuming more than 7 scoops of NB per day per person. This is equivalent to 7 servings of fruits and vegetables. Think of how it would be to eat more than 7 apples!

I would like to give NB to my 5 year old. What should I do ?

The serving amount of NB to children is determined by their body weight not their age. It is important to start slowly due to the high fiber content. Below are some guidelines.

►  For children under 35 lbs:  you should give about 1/4 to 1/2  scoop per eating occasion, and no more than 1 scoop per day. While 1/2 scoop is about 1/2 of a serving of fruits & vegetables it is like 3 servings to an adult of 200 lbs
►  For children from 35 to 70 lbs:  you should give 1/2 to 1 scoop per eating occasion, and no more than 2 scoop per day. While 1 scoop is about 1 serving of fruits & vegetables it is like 3 servings to an adult of 200 lbs
►  For children from 70 lbs to 120 lbs:  you should give 1 scoop per eating occasion, and no more than 3 scoops per day
  For children above 120 lbs:  you can use a normal adult regimen, remembering to start off slowly

Should I take the same amount of NB every day ?

NB is a substitute for when you can't get enough fruits and vegetables for whatever reason. For more than 80% of the population it's a foregone conclusion they and their family will be missing that nutrition. You may be better off establishing a regular routine of taking NB every morning to eliminate the worry. Our recommendation is to consume NB as part of your everyday morning routine.

What are the best foods and beverages to mix with NutraBoost ? 

In foods, NB works well in yogurt, oatmeal, breakfast cereal with milk, scrambled eggs, soups, and sauces. Remember to adjust the amount of NB powder to about 1 scoop per 10 oz of liquid. 

In beverages, NB works well in whole milk, orange juice, apple juice, grape juice, lemonade, iced tea, sports drinks and protein shakes. Some clearer juices may turn slightly cloudy. You may notice a slight vegetal flavor in some beverages which have a very weak base flavor such as skim milk. 

For best taste, mix one scoop of NB with at least 10 oz of liquid. If you are consuming less liquids add less NB according to your taste preference.

Which types of foods and beverages should I not mix NB with ?

You should not mix NB with clear unflavored water, carbonated or alcoholic beverages.

How many fruit & vegetable servings should a person get in one day ?

The current consensus among dietary professionals is to consume 6 to 9 per person per day. 

What time of the day is best to take NB ?

We recommend starting the day off right and developing a routine by taking 2 scoops in the morning with breakfast. This is best taken with 1 scoop in a beverage and 1 scoop in a liquid type food, such as oatmeal, yogurt or even scrambled eggs (before they are cooked). The remainder can be taken at the most convenient time of the day.

What about mixing NB in a 1/2 gallon pitcher ?

A 1/2 gallon pitcher equals 64 oz. Using a ratio of 1 scoop per 10 oz. for best taste you should add 6 scoops to the 1/2 gallon of liquid. When you mix several scoops of NB in one pitcher try to spread out the powder over the top of the liquid surface. Putting all the powder in same area will cause clumping. NB is very soluble and will dissolve completely within just a few minutes. 

What should I do with any left over beverage I have mixed ?

Refrigerate immediately and consume entire contents within 24 hours. After 24 hours the liquid may turn slightly reddish orange and produce a slight change in the vegetal aroma or taste. This does not impact the nutritional delivery of the product in any way.
